MATTHEW SCOTT KENNEDY SR.
1980 - 2016


Matthew Scott Kennedy Sr., 35, was born on October 13, 1980 to Glenda and Arnold Kennedy. He passed from this life on March 13, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Matthew, "Matt" enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, concerts, storm/ tornado chasing and the company of his family.
He married Helen Marie Kennedy in November 2000 and had three children, Matthew Scott, Kayla and Hunter.
Matt is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Everett and Lorene Goodnight, maternal uncles, Jim, Bill and Leon Goodnight. Also, his paternal grandparents, Nettie Lamb and Clifton Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Helen and three children all of the home, his mother and father, Glenda and Arnold Kennedy of Shawnee, Oklahoma, three sisters and their spouses, Christy and Dean Washburn of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Terri and Aaron Sparks of Oklahoma City and Brenda and Quinton Hall of Louisiana, and one brother and his wife, Tony and Markeeta Taber of Little Axe, Oklahoma. Matt is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Cooper Funeral Home to help with final costs.
Cremation services being handled by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
