LORENE A. JORDAN
1926 - 2009


Tecumseh resident Lorene A. Pledger Jordan died Sunday, November 29, 2009, in Tecumseh at the at of 83.
She was born March 28, 1926, in Edmond to William G. and Joan Thorne Pledger.
As a young child, she moved to Macomb with her family.
Following her marriage, she and her husband reared their family in the Little Axe and Norman area. In 1965, they moved to Tecumseh, where they have resided since.
She attended Macomb school and was a graduate of Macomb High School.
On July 1, 1944, she married the love of her life, Jim Jordan, in Visalia, California.
Mrs. Jordan worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. John Johnson and later for Jordan Construction.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and was active in the Women's Ministry Union.
Mrs. Jordan was a great cook and especially enjoyed spending time and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Jordan of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sheila Jordan of Tecumseh and Wayne and Helen "Duffy" Jordan of Bethel; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Allen of Montgomery, Texas; sister, Oweta Chaffin of Key West, Florida; sister-in-law, Joan Pledger Thorne of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Jennifer Roberson, John Jordan, Danielle Edwards, Hollie Jordan, David Allen, Kathy Miers and Jeff Birkenmeier; ten great-grandchildren and many friends and family.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.
Burial will be at Collins Cemetery, southeast of Saint Louis, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
The casket will remain open until service time.
