VIRGINIA LEE JONES
1936 - 2012


Virginia "Grandma" Wallace Jones, 76, of Macomb, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012, at her home.
Virginia was born March 2, 1936, in Healdsburg, California, to William Evert and Ina Marie Vanbebber Wallace and was an only child.
She married Homer Milton Jones on July 3, 1956, in Bakersfield, California, and to this union ten children were born.
Homer preceded her in death on February 4, 1996.
In 1992, they moved to Macomb where she resided until her passing.
Aside from taking care of her home and raising a family, she had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She enjoyed going to the beach and collecting seashells, sewing everything from blankets to Halloween costumes and growing beautiful roses. Holidays, birthdays and family gatherings were her favorites.
She had many loved ones and was loved by many.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Jones; three sons, John Sides, Earl Jones and Fred Jones and maternal grandparents, John and Virginia Vanbebber.
Those left to cherish her memory are five sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Jones of California; Jr. and Jill Sides of Luther; Robert Jones of Shawnee; Rick and Vickie Sides of Jones, and Mark and Cameo Jones of Maud; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Tully Stoughton of Tecumseh; Anna Jones of Macomb and Nichole and Ivan Chavez of Macomb; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.
Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, at Romulus Baptist Church with Pastor Sergio William Browning officiating.
Burial will follow at Romulus Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
