ROBERT LEE GREEN
1937 - 1997


Longtime Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Robert L. "Bob" Green died Sunday in a local hospital. He was 60.
He was born September 13, 1937, in Crowder, Oklahoma, to Boy Amos and Cleo Inez Sutton Green.
He graduated from Indianola High School in 1956, and attended St. Gregory's College and the University of Oklahoma. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Bob was an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman for thirty years, joining in 1967 at McAlester with his first assignment in Guthrie. He had lived in Shawnee since 1970.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he was an usher and Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the State Troopers Association, Masonic Lodge 107, a worshipful master and 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Blue Lodge in McAlester.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Green, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Renee and Ron King, Stillwater; daughter, Deanna Lynn Green, Stillwater; granddaughter, Sarah Michelle King, Stillwater; six sisters, Juanita Hamilton, McAlester; Cora McElhaney, Shawnee; Mary Lusk, Indianola; Freda Akins, Amarillo, Texas; Bonnie Hackler, Sedalia, Missouri; Judy Justice, Gozolas, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Gertrude Reynolds, McAlester; and many other relatives and numerous friends.
His parents preceded him in death.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Matthews officiating, assisted by Chief Gary Adams.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
