MARY EGGAR GALLOWAY
1923 - 2011


Mary Eggar Galloway, 88, of Yukon, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Yukon.
She was born January 7, 1923, in Bower to Eley O. and Hattie M. Snelling Eggar.
Mary was raised in the Wolf area and was a 1941 graduate of Wolf High School and a graduate of Draughon Business School.
She married Ed Galloway on June 26, 1948, in Oklahoma City.
Mary joined the U.S. Air Force {WAAC} and served two years. She worked at Tinker Field for eight years, later moving to Tulsa and working at McDonnell Douglas until retiring in 1979. She moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1990, remaining there until moving in 2003 to Spanish Cove Retirement Center in Yukon, where she has resided since.
She was a member of Tulsa Rolling Hill Golf Association and Women's Golf Association of Bella Vista, where she made her hole-in-one.
Mary was also a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bella Vista and a member of Discovery Assembly of God in Yukon.
She loved to sew and play golf, her hole-in-one was a great highlight in her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ed on June 19, 2001; her parents and three sisters, Rosalee Eggar, Etta L. Dillingham and Carolyn Copeland.
She is survived by three sisters, Barbara and husband, Delbert Aldridge, Shawnee; Elsie Sales, El Reno; and Patsy Gentry, Holdenville; one brother, Eley Eggar, Watonga; two brothers-in-law, Jim O'Conner, Delaware; and Jim Copeland, Macomb; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Fouts, Discovery Assembly of God, Yukon, officiating.
Burial will follow at Romulus Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
