JOHN WILLIAM DAVIS
1936 - 2012


John William Davis was born January 12, 1936 in Cushing, Oklahoma and died January 4, 2012.
John was a master carpenter and brick mason. He began laying brick for Muskogee Hospital in the 1960's, later owned three companies, a construction, an electrical and a lawn and garden equipment company, and then worked for Winslow Associates until he retired to life on the farm.
After retirement he enjoyed spending his time baling hay, tinkering on every piece of farm equipment he could lay his hands on, building custom cabinetry for his children and spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids just plain rotten.
John is preceded in death by his wife of forty- four years, Lena Joe {Bayless} Davis; his parents, Clarence and Alta Mae Davis; and two brothers, Clarence and David.
John is survived by six children, Bron and wife Judy; Pamela Lupo, Michael, Melinda Jack, Matthew and wife Tonya and Andrea Anderson and husband Joey; twelve grandchildren, Brandi {Lupo} Patin and husband Mike; Erin Davis, Mandy {Lupo} Barnett and husband Justin; Matthew Davis, Jr. and wife Crystal; Bryce Davis, Stephen Davis and wife Jennifer; Justin Jack, Breanna {Lupo} Wichers and husband Josh; Andrew Davis, Rebecca Jack, John Anderson and JoLena Anderson; and four great grandchildren, Emily Ragsdale, Troi Barnett, Easton Davis and Olivia Davis; three brothers and three sisters, Joy Butterfield, Oleta Hayes, Darrell and wife Jeanie; Majorie White, Sammy and Everett; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Glendon Sanders officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.
