JOHN BURNS
1931 - 1997


John Burns of Tecumseh died Thursday at the age of 66.
He was born January 11, 1931, in Glenwood, Washington, to Earl and Cordelia Satterwhite Burns. He was reared in Glenwood and in Baker, Oregon.
He married Millie Smith in White Salmon, Washington, on May 14, 1955. He had also lived in Orange, California, before moving to Tecumseh in 1978.
He had served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a plumbing contractor. For more than two years, he had worked in maintenance at Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech. He was also a wood craftsman.
He was a member of Pentecostal Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Millie Burns, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and David Bracken, Orange, California; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Sherry Burns, Tecumseh; son, Bill Burns, Tecumseh; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Bobbie Burns, Glenwood, Washington; four grandchildren, Marla Bracken, Rachel Bracken, Crystal Burns, Johnny Burns, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Pearl Ellis.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God with the Rev. Fred Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Moral Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
