MARY R. BLOCHOWIAK
1923 - 2000


Longtime Shawnee resident Mary R. Block Blochowiak died Friday in a local hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Blochowiak was born October 7, 1913, in Ringgold, Georgia, the daughter of William and Laura Klish.
She moved to Drumright in 1917, and lived there until she moved to Shawnee with her parents in June 1925.
She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1930. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper for F. W. Woolworth Co. Later she was a bookkeeper for J. C. Penney.
She married C. J. Blochowiak on September 9, 1941, in Shawnee.
Mrs. Blochowiak was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laura Klish; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, C .J. Blochowiak of the home; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill and Brenda Blochowiak, Oklahoma City; Dick and Nancy Blochowiak, McLoud; Charles Blochowiak, Ponca City; and Ed Blochowiak, Shawnee; a daughter, Mary Ann Blochowiak, Edmond; three sisters, Mildred Fox, Northglenn, Colorado; Alda Bartholomew, East Moline, Illinois; and Ruby Stevens, Oklahoma City; thirteen grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A prayer service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
