DEBORAH SUE AKINS
1953 - 2010


SHAWNEE, Okla. — Shawnee resident Deborah Sue Hendershot Akins died Friday, August 6, 2010, in a local hospital at the age of 57.
She was born June 2, 1953, in Shawnee to Don and Leta Mauldin Hendershot.
Deborah was raised in Dale and graduated from Dale High School.
She married Steve Akins. They later divorced but have remained lifelong friends.
She loved being a homemaker and being a nana to her grandbabies. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, watching sports, and was an avid O.S.U. fan.
Preceeding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include two children, April Livernois and husband Scott of Shawnee; and Brock Akins and wife JoEtta of McLoud; three grandchildren, Cole Livernois, Hunter Akins and BayLea Akins; two sisters, Connie Akins and husband Bud of Dale; and Penny Claborn and husband John; neices and nephews, Summer Lilley, Savannah Berry, Bryan Akins, Brian Claborn and Christy Parsons.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, at First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee with the Rev. Johnny Stephens officiating.
Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
