Newalla resident Jim "J.D." Claytor, 55, died Tuesday, March 14, in Newalla.
He was born Nov. 19, 1950 to Dan and Dale Claytor in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Claytor was a graduate of Norman High School and was known for his outstanding athletic ability. He excelled in football and recieved State Championship in track.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Southwest Electric in Oklahoma City.
Claytor loved being outdoors and being surrounded by friends, family, neighbors and co-workers, providing entertainment and laughter wherever he went. He will be dearly missed as he was loved by us all very much.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dan Claytor of Asher.
Survivors include his mother, Dale Claytor of Longview, Wa.; son, Ryan Corey of Norman; sister and brother-in-law, Traci and Rex Osborne of Longview, Wa.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Lisa Claytor of Fort Smith, Ark., Lee and Nan Claytor of Newalla, and David and Jamie Claytor of Asher; three grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a multitude of devoted friends, including his lifelong buddy Dewayne Williams of Newalla.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
