Louie Derwood Davis

Louie Derwood Davis Departed this life on June 22, 2013. He was born October 20, 1930 in Avery, Texas to Lois Murphy and Ollie Mae Davis and came to Midwest City on July 4, 1941. He attended school at Star Elementary and Choctaw High School. Later he spent two years (1952 " 1954) in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army he attended Oklahoma City University and then was hired at Tinker Air Force Base where he worked for 32 years. On February 26, 1955 he married and has one son, Larry John and one daughter, Connie Sue. Larry married and has two sons: Larry Todd and Casey Wade. Casey is married to Tiffany and they are expecting a son. Connie married Jeffery Spicer and they have two daughters: Bridget and Ashlee. Bridget married and has a son, Lake. Ashlee married Adam Welch and they have a son, Zane and a daughter, Allyssa. Besides his children and grandchildren he is survived by one brother: Calvin Junior and his wife Alvaretta of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: his mother, Ollie Mae, two brothers: Lee and Milton, and two sisters: Imogene and La Verne. If your own life has been as happy and fulfilling as Derwood"s, then consider yourself very blessed. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow 1:00 PM, Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.
