Mary Louise Brown

Mary Louise Brown, age 73, of Shawnee, OK passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Shawnee.

She was born November 12, 1949 in Shawnee, OK to Leon and Helen Frances (Gatewood) Brown, Sr.

Mary was raised in Brooksville, OK, and graduated from Macomb High School. She also attended college in Okmulgee.

She lived in Denver, CO for many years, then moving to Shawnee, and has lived there ever since.

She worked as a caregiver with several home health care offices. In her spare time Mary loved to crochet and read.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Kay Carr.

Mary is survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers in law, Helen Winrow of Midwest City, Rhonda Austin of Shawnee, Barbara and James Jefferson of Shawnee and Robbie and Alfred Brannon of Shawnee; 3 brothers and 1 sister in law, Leon and Ladeice Brown of Weatherford, Mark Sanders of Shawnee and Marvin Sanders of Edmond; Auntie, Vivian Lawson of Shawnee; and many other loving friends and extended family.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Toma and the SSM Shawnee ICU staff for the care they gave Mary.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vincent Roland, St. John Baptist Church, Brooksville, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
