Jerrie Lyn Taylor, 68, lifelong Shawnee resident passed from this life Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her home.

She was born January 28, 1950 to JD and Ina (Miles) Johnson in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jerrie was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools. She graduated with the class of 1968 from Shawnee High School.

Jerrie married Earnest William Taylor, Jr. on October 21, 1982 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She worked in Medical Records at Mission Hill Hospital, Gateway Prevention and Jordan’s Crossing Inpatient Facility in Oklahoma City.

Jerrie loved fishing, gardening and spending time with her family; and especially spending time with her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her father, JD Johnson; and her brother, Eddie Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 35 years, Ernie Taylor of the home; son, Jon Dustin Gilley of Shawnee, OK; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Gilley and Kelsey Gilley; 1 great-grandson, Axton Gilley; mother, Ina Johnson of Shawnee, OK; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Donna and Don Mills of Shawnee, OK and Tonya Johnson of Shawnee, OK; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Jacquita Johnson of Prague, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee with Reverend Joe Taylor, Generations Church in Shawnee officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
