JAMES "JIM" GOBLE

November 21, 1956 - July 03, 2018

James “Jim” Goble, 61, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born November 21, 1956 to James and Bernice Goble in Olney, Illinois.

Jim attended early elementary school in Onley, IL and upper elementary in Edmond, OK. He attended Middle and High School at Shawnee graduating with the class of 1974 from Shawnee High School. Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree from East Central University in Ada.

He married Sherri Shirlene Wright on August 6, 1982 in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Brother Jack Woodard and Sister Gina Woodard officiating the marriage.

Jim worked for the State of Oklahoma as a Social Worker in Shawnee and most recently as the State Supervisor retiring in 2017.

He enjoyed reading books and newspapers, loved watching sports and was an avid sports fan. Jim was all about the kids and OJA and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri Goble of the home; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, LaNetta Cook of Norman, OK and Sarah and Jacob James of Norman, OK; 1 son, Adam Goble of Norman, OK; 5 grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with family gathering from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and family at Cooper Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
