JIM RULE JORDAN

5 Oct 1924 - 23 Nov 2017

Jim Rule Jordan, 93, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, died peacefully in his home on Nov. 23, 2017 surrounded by family.

He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Maud, Oklahoma, to Haley Bell Guinn and John Columbus "Lum" Jordan.

He graduated from Macomb High School and moved to Visalia, California, where his bride to be, Lorene Annette Pledger, traveled to meet him and they were married July 1, 1944. They settled in OKC and in 1946 welcomed their first son, Jimmy, and 11 months later, their daughter Sharon.

Continuing to work in the hardwood floor business, in 1951, he bought a farm east of Norman, Oklahoma, and settled there for 10 years. Their youngest son Wayne was born in 1954. For the last five of those years on that farm, Jim also ran a dairy farm, until the farm was bought for the development of Thunderbird Lake. He eventually moved to Tecumseh in the spring of 1965, working as a union carpenter. He bought 80 acres to develop Green Hill Acres in Tecumseh. Jordan Construction was established in 1972, with his son Jimmy. Jim retired from there in 1988 and permanently relocated to their home on East Locust.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Jordan on Nov. 29, 2009; his parents; and one brother, Lewis Jordan.

Those left to cherish his memory are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sheila Jordan of Tecumseh, and Wayne and Helen "Duffy" Jordan of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mike Allen of Montgomery, Texas; seven grandchildren, David and Lisa Allen, Frank and Kathy Miers, Matt and Jennifer Roberson, John and Kay Jordan, Holly Jordan, Shane and Danielle Lomeli and Jeff and Danielle Birkenmier; seven great-grandchildren, Dean and Matthew Allen, Tyler and Tori Allen, Haley and Lane Miers, Chloe and Claire Roberson, Alyssa and Jonathon Jordan, Sicilie and Lukas Lomeli and Gavin Birkenmier; one great-great grandchild, Sebastian James Allen; and other loving extended family and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Peak, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery in St. Louis, Oklahoma, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
