Valentine Mickish

Funeral services for Valentine Mickish, 82, of 307 N. Park, are scheduled at 9 AM Friday in St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Father James Murphy, pastor, will officiate at the funeral mass and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM today in Roesch Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Mickish died at 4:45 AM Tuesday, September 26, 1961 in his home.

Mr. Mickish was born August 26, 1879 in Austria and came to the United States with his parents. He lived in several states before coming to Shawnee. Later he returned to Austria but had lived in Shawnee since 1920.

He operated a shoe repair business until his retirement about 1955. He and his wife received their naturalization papers several years ago.

He was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Mickish, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Kathleen Mellinger of Warner Robbins, Georgia; one son, Rudolph Mickish, of the home, and five grandchildren.

Roesch Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
