Graveside services for Standridge Marlow Walker, 85, of Norman, formerly of Edmond and Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. James Lauderdale will officiate. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Walker passed away Tuesday September 12, 2017 at the Norman Veterans Center. He was born November 17, 1931 at Oklahoma City to Marion Richmond and Edna Mae (Barker) Walker. He graduated from Ada High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s Degree from East Central University in Ada.

He married Betty Lou Hicks March 22, 1951. She preceded him in death April 15, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Mr. Walker was employed with Haliburton Company and later was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include a brother Glenn Walker and a sister, Glenna Faust both of Ada, Ok; three daughters, Sandy Neal and husband Roy of Norman, OK, Marilyn Phillips of Kingston, Ok, Janet Battles and husband David of Edmond, OK; a son, Stan Walker and wife Jennifer of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Lynn Hoehman of Kingston, OK, Tammy Holtman of Ada, Ok, Justin Walker and wife Heather of Fort Worth, TX, John Walker of Denton, Texas, Lindsey Hester and husband Andrew of Oklahoma City, Ok, William Battles and wife Krisha of Yukon, OK, Evan Neal of Norman, Ok and Liam Walker of Fort Worth, TX; and six great-grandchildren, Haley, Jessica, Dustin and Brandon Landrith of Sasakwa, Ok and Natalie and Logan Battles of Yukon, OK. A seventh great grandson is expected by Linsdey and Andrew Hester in November of this year.

He was predeceased his parents, a brother Bob Walker, a grandson, Dale Hoehman and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Burke.
