Services for Lanie Carol Vass, 78, of Ada will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, and Reverend Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.

Ms. Vass passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Ada. She was born October 20, 1943, in Houston, Texas to Norval Stewart Shipman and Dixie Juanita Van Nostrand. She graduated from Shawnee High School in Oklahoma.

She married Tommy Ray Vass on February 13, 1961, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Ms. Vass was employed by various medical offices and retail sales stores during her working years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.

Survivors include a daughter, Janie Snyder, and her husband Ronnie of Ada; a son, Tommy Ray Vass Jr., and his wife Joni of Ada; four grandchildren; Ronnie D. Snyder of Ada, Trevin Vass and wife Anna of Ada, Summer Snyder with Tyler Jones of Ada, and Taran Williams and her husband Jake of Stonewall; nine great-grandchildren; Brennan Snyder, Kaidence Jones, Cameron Snyder, Blaikley Williams, Brody Snyder, Karter Jones, Alivia Williams, Lakelyn Vass, and Talon Vass; one sister; Dixie Jensen of Atlanta, Georgia, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother Dave Shipman.

Bearers will be Ronnie D. Snyder, Trevin Vass, Jake Williams, and Tyler Jones. Honorary bearers will be The Who So Ever Sunday School Class.

The family would like to thank the Brookdale Senior Living Center staff for the care that they provided to mom over the past thirteen months. Also, thank you to Kindful Hospice for providing care and comfort to mom over this past week.
