Services for Betty Z. Taylor, 86, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Steve Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Ms. Taylor passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Norman Veterans Center. She was born March 9, 1932 in Ada to Willie O. and Vera Mae Burton Clark. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1950. She then joined the U. S. Navy from July 24, 1951 until being honorably discharged October 6, 1952. After serving in the Navy, she returned home and attended East Central University.

Ms. Taylor was a homemaker and loved her dogs. She was passionate about the “Warmth for Winter” Coat Drive and helped gather 500 coats and the “Spirit of Christmas” for children.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Smith and her husband Ed of Choctaw; a son, Dennis Sumner and his wife Glenna of Martin, TN; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Dinkins of Edmond, Zachary Smith of Choctaw and Erin Sumner of Martin, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Brady and Emery Dinkins and Averie Smith.

Bearers will be Dennis Sumner, Zachary Smith and Alex Dinkins.
