Services for Jane Stafford, 88, formerly of Ada, are at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada. Rev. Rusty Fuller will be officiating services. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. A visitation is planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Criswell Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at that time.
Jane Stafford died Monday, January 29, 2024, with family members by her side. She was born August 8, 1935, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Arthur and Olive Wright and grew up in Ringgold, Georgia.
She married Donald Gene Stafford on July 5, 1951. They were best friends and constant companions for 60 years until his death on February 27, 2012. They loved to travel, play bridge, and spend time with their family.
Mrs. Stafford was a Christian. She and her late husband have been members of the First Baptist Church of Ada since 1962, her husband served as a Deacon for many years. They taught Sunday School for many years, including high school, young married, single, and adult classes.
In 2018, Mrs. Stafford moved to Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City to be closer to family. She loved playing bridge, shopping, and attending devotional services in the Chapel. During her years at Epworth, she enjoyed attending services at Crossings Community Church.
Jane Stafford is survived by her three sons, Michael Stafford, and his wife, Angela, of Navarre, Florida, Robert Stafford, and his wife, Dawne, of Tulsa, and Joel Stafford, and his wife, Janet, of Edmond; eight grandchildren, Nancy Brook Daniels and her husband, John, of Rockvale, Tennessee, Joy Stafford, of Rockvale, Tennessee, Zachary Stafford and his wife, Karen, of Rockvale, Tennessee, Jordan Stafford of Columbus, Ohio, Griffin Stafford of Oklahoma City, Matthew Stafford and his wife, Sidney, of Oklahoma City, Shawn Stafford of Oklahoma City, and Allison Clark and her husband, Brian, of Tulare, California; six great-grandchildren, Katlyn Freeman, Kyra Freeman, Brylan Countryman, Lux Countryman, Jett Countryman, Azora Stafford, and soon to be born Harley Stafford; one sister-in-law, Carrolyn Haley, and her husband, R.L., of Valliant, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald Gene Stafford, her parents, her beloved older sister, Austine Goodlet, her brother, Arthur “Buddy” Wright, and her nephew, James A Goodlet.
