Alyene Sims went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2023 in Sherman, Texas. Funeral Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home and will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Southwest Church of Christ. Mr. Floyd Kaiser and Mr. Butch Platt will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M at the Funeral Home.

Alyene Sims was born on July 31, 1930 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Curtis Allen and Lillie Mae Baker. She graduated from Calvin High School in 1948, where she was named the class Valedictorian. After graduating from high school, Alyene worked at the First National Bank in Holdenville, Oklahoma, and later met and married Leo Sims, on December 8th, 1951 in Holdenville.

After moving to Ada, Alyene worked at the First National Bank and later became a homemaker and mother to their two daughters. She and Leo were faithful members of the Southwest Church of Christ for many years. She was very active in church work and taught children's Bible Classes, attended Ladies Bible Class, and over the years, she assisted her husband, Leo, with many home Bible studies. She had a servant's heart, serving and caring for others in many ways, whether it was taking someone to Ladies Bible Class or taking food to people in need, she enjoyed helping others.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Parker and husband David of Sherman, Texas, Nancy Dale and husband Kent of College Station, Texas; Grandsons, Jeff Parker and wife April of The Colony, Texas; Brian Parker and wife Kate of Aubrey, Texas; Matthew Dale of College Station, Texas; Granddaughter, Dasha Dale Broaddus and husband Blake of Seguin, Texas; Great grand-daughters, Presley and Dallas Jane Parker; and Great grand-son, Dax Parker, all of The Colony, Texas, and a great granddaughter arriving in early August.

Alyene was preceded in death by her parents Curtis, and Lillie Mae Baker; twin brother, Allen Baker; sisters, Lorice McAnally and Hazel Wilbanks and her husband, Leo Sims.

Pallbearers will be John Eck, David Hendricks, Allen Eck, Brent Lowe, Gary Strong, and Greg Hatton. Honorary bearers will be her grandsons, Jeff Parker, Brian Parker and Matt Dale.

A verse that matches Alyene’s life is 2 Timothy 4:7 " I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.”

Memorials can be made to Southwest Church of Christ or Program for Humanitarian Aid (PHA) in memory of Leo and Alyene Sims.
