Services for Lena Simpson, 103, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Pam Simpson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Simpson passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her home. She was born November 10, 1918 in the Tyrola Community, north of Ada to Babe and Ada Chandler Kellum. She graduated as the Salutatorian from Asher High School in 1938.

She married Forest Simpson January 21, 1943. He preceded her in death February 4, 1997. Mrs. Simpson loved to cook and garden. She cooked at Valley View Regional Hospital from 1960 – 1986 and later she managed the café at the Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction for many years. She was a longtime active member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include two nieces, Pam Simpson, Ada and Lou Jean Graves, Hot Springs Village, AR; Letha Wood and husband Pud of Ada and their daughters, Scottie and Shane Coker, Shannon Wood and Jason Carter, Mareligh McClure, and Mayme McClure.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forest Simpson; a son, Forest E. Simpson; and daughter-in-law, Lynda K. Simpson.

Bearers are Royce Sliger, Mick McGowan, Jim White, Jerry Lamb, Shane Coker, Jason Carter and Bruce Carson.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care given to her by Roberta Case, Nicole Cagle and Phyllis Blood.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Forest E. Simpson Scholarship at O.S.U., P.O. Box 1749, Stillwater, OK 74076.
