Memorial services for Doris A. Simmons, 90, of Stonewall are 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Southwest Church of Christ, David Dirrim will officiate. A Committal service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Macedonia Cemetery near Tomball, TX.

Mrs. Simmons passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at an Ada hospital. She was born February 4, 1927 at Baytown, TX to John L. and Janet Stowe.

She married Jacob J. Simmons August 11, 1946. He preceded her in death September, 2000. Mrs. Simmons was a bookkeeper for several industrial industries in Houston and later she was a bookkeeper at a doctor’s office when they moved to east Texas. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ in Ada.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Kaiser and her husband Floyd of Stonewall; a sister, Janice Thomas of Kerrville, TX; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Patty Brenner.
