Lillie (McCown) Scroggins

Services for Lillie Scroggins, 86, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Chuck Neal will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m . until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Scroggins passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at a local nursing home. She was born March 11, 1931, in Ada to Velvin and Ruby Hanning McCown. She attended school at Jones Chapel.

She married Elmer V. Scroggins November, 1966. He preceded her in death February 1, 2000. Mrs. Scroggins was a self-employed Seamstress and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Peltier and husband Hallie of Norman; a sister, Leer Kelly of Ada; two grandchildren, Megan and Logan; two nieces, Ruby Bray and Lillie Ella Kelly; one great-niece, Makayla Ball; and one great-nephew, Matthew Bray.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Conroe McCown, Clyde McCown and Gene McCown; and a sister, Ruby Neal.

Bearers will be Hallie Peltier, Logan Peltier, Michael Ball, Delton Bray, Jon Melchor and Mitch Melchor.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Ada City School Foundation, P. O. Box 2092, Ada, OK 74821.
