Services for Edna Lois Roper, 97, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. David Fensler will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Roper passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at her home. She was born September 18, 1918 in Fitzhugh to Johnnie Henry and Roxie Golightly Hooser. She attended Fitzhugh school.

She married James Jefferice “J.J.” Roper September 24, 1936. He preceded her in death October 24, 2002. Mr. and Mrs. Roper owned and operated several grocery stores in Ada and Latta. Later, she was a cashier at Dutch’s Grocery Store. She was a longtime active member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Roper was known as “Mannaw” and loved by everyone.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Rigsby of Ada; son, Bill Roper of Ada; six grandchildren, Chris Rigsby, Chad Rigsby and wife Michele, Cheneé Gary and husband Scott, Elisha Hays, Robin Roberson and husband Scott and Venetia Phillippe and husband Levi; ten great-grandchildren, Timothy, Trevor, Emily, Graham, Macy, Tanner, Matthew, Buck, Dakota and Morgan; and a brother, L. G. Hooser of Vanoss.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son-in-law, Clive Rigsby.

Bearers will be Greg Cochran, Rick Cochran, Graham Gary, Chad Rigsby, Trevor Rigsby, Timothy Teater, Chris Rigsby and Scott Gary.

The family wishes to thank Victory Home Health and Hospice, Gayle Crane and Wanda Adams for their compassionate care and love.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to Morris Memorial Baptist Church, 16121 CR 3540, Ada, OK 74820.
