Services for Hazel Marie Jamar, 86, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Southwest Church of Christ. Mr. Floyd Kaiser and Mr. Brian Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jamar passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at her home. She was born May 24, 1936 in St. Louis, OK to Jesse Homer and Ruth Woodward Thompson Bettis.

Mrs. Jamar graduated from Latta High School in 1955. Through the years, Hazel worked at Brockway, Blue Bell (Wrangler), Katz Clothing Store, and many years at Gem Jewelers. She was a long-time member of Southwest Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes and served in many ministries.

On October 27, 1956 she married Alvin Jamar in Ada, OK. Alvin and Hazel went on many dates to the Kit Kat Drive-In. They loved camping, fishing and traveling. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Survivors are her three daughters, Darla Hendricks and husband David, of Ada, Dena Withrow, of Yukon, OK and Karla Garberick and husband James, of Ada; one sister, Betty Gerth, of Ada; five grandchildren, Dylan Hendricks and wife Carly, of Marlow, Dayton Hendricks, of OKC; Dawson Hendricks and wife Miranda, of OKC, Kalee Withrow, of Broken Bow and Kendyl Withrow, of Iwakuni, Japan; five great grandchildren, Caroline Hendricks, Carter Hendricks, Luke Hendricks, Baker Hendricks and Beckham Kelly; and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two brothers, Monroe and Hershel Bettis.

Bearers will be Alan Simpson, Danny Stewart, Richard Howard, Scott Young, Dylan Hendricks and Dawson Hendricks. Honorary bearers will be Wayne King, John Lee, Eugene Cannon, Glendel Hatton, Riley Young and Mickey Griffin.

The family would like to thank Elara Hospice and her caretaker Tobie Hearrell for their care of their mother.
