Edith Marie (Sanders) Hutchings

Services for Edith Marie Sanders Hutchings, 85, Ada, are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Criswell Chapel, Bud Ross officiating. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Hutchings died Monday, March 31, 1922 at a local nursing home. She was born May 13, 1922 at Ada, Oklahoma to Robert Simpson and Grace Franklin Sanders. She attended Ada schools and has lived in the Ada area all her life.

She married James Raymond Hutchings on August 22, 1940 in Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1999 at Ada, Oklahoma. She worked as a Social Worker and was employed at Ada High School for seven years. She also was a rancher for many years, raising Limousin cattle. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ, a member of the Heart of Oklahoma Limousin Association, a member of the East Central Oklahoma Limousin Associaton in Okemah, and a member of the Little Dixie Association at McAlester.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Pryor and her husband Joe, Ada, and Lesa Mann and her husband Wendall, Ada; two sons, Don Hutchings and his wife Dee, Ada, and Larry Hutchings and his wife Colleen, Ada; two brothers, J. K. Sanders, Stonewall, and Charles E. “Monk” Sanders, Ada; two sisters, Beulah Bratcher, Stonewall, and Ruthie Batts, Ada; seven grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Bearers are Jamey Hutchings, Jeremy Mann, Mike Hutchings, Lance Hutchings, Jason Mann, Randy Carter and Hunter Hutchings. Honorary bearers will be Charles Barrick, H. A. Blackburn, Bill Nelson, and Tom Stephens.
