Services for Horace H. Golden, 89, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Avenue Baptist Church, his son, Randy Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Golden died Friday, May 29, 2020 at his home. Horace Hartwell Golden entered this life on May 11, 1931. Born to Murray Mack and Edna Herrin Golden. He married Ethelene Henderson on September 3, 1950 at the First Baptist Church of Ahloso.

Horace was RLS #89, the 89th Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Oklahoma. His foot prints are over the state of Oklahoma. He and Ethelene settled on a farm 7 miles northwest of Ada where they both lived until passing from this life. Horace worked as a surveyor, draftsman, and assistant to Ralph Delaney Engineering in Ada, Fred Spitz Engineering in Norman and his own business, Horace Golden Land Surveyor. He also raised cattle and Bermuda grass hay on the farm northwest of Ada. Horace was an avid Bass player, loved country and southern gospel music. Ethelene always said the only way Horace would ever lose a crop on the farm would be to go play music. Horace was a member and Deacon of Union Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Golden and wife Vickie of Ada and Randy Golden and wife Diana of Ada; two daughters, Carole Philips and husband Ray of Ada and Teresa Gruntorad and husband Roger of Lincoln, NE; sister, Barbara Davis of Durant; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Choate, Truly Nipps, Greg Duncan, Lindsey Duncan, Tyler Schneider, Heather Osborne, Ryan Collings, Amber Sawyer, Murray Golden, and Kimberly Golden; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Edna; his wife of 60 years, Ethelene; brothers, Mack Golden, Robert Golden, and Sonny Golden; sisters, Lolita Tucker and Lavena Morgan; grandson, Brad Holman; and granddaughter, Bethany Golden. .
