Services for Peggy Sue Ellis, 77, of Wewoka are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Gleaner’s Holiness Church in Wewoka, Rev. Larry Chesser and Rev. Tony Chesser will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
Mrs. Peggy Sue Ellis, born 1/24/1939 was married to her loving husband, Rev. Paul Wayne Ellis for 63 years. They had five children: Deborah Sue Bell, David Wayne Ellis, Paul Timothy Ellis and twin daughters, Mary Jan Ellis and Teri Ruth Ann Walkup.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Peggy was in the ministry with her husband for over 50 years. They pastored, evangelized and had a radio Ministry. She opened a Mission Center in Wewoka, helped organize and start the meals on wheels program, and had been a foster Mother. Peggy devoted her life to helping others know Jesus. Peggy had great faith and praised GOD until her last moment here on Earth. Peggy was an amazing Woman of GOD. She had a special way of encouraging those who were discouraged. Peggy had an anointed Song Ministry and played the piano and had writings that were published. Peggy loved her husband dearly, her family and helping lead others to Christ, and that is what she lived for. She always opened her home to those in need, even strangers.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Wayne Ellis, of the home; three daughters, Deborah Bell and Mary Ellis both of Seminole; Teri Walkup and husband, John Walkup of Oklahoma City; a son, Paul Timothy Ellis and wife Patricia of Wewoka; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; her mother, Gladys Marie Cole of Purcell; one brother, John Ott of Purcell; and one sister, Gloria McGee of Ada; and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Clifford Ott; son, David Wayne Ellis; sisters, Sharon Hollingsworth and Jo Ann Stringer; brothers, Stephen Ott and Elmer Ott.
Bearers will be Stanley Johnson II, Jeffery Walters II, SPC. Enrique Martinez II, Christopher Martinez, Adam Johnson, Eric Martinez. Honorary bearers will be Justin Edwards, Bobby Malone, Timothy Jacob Ellis, and Rylan Walters.
