Services for Loretta Geraldine Corvin, 94, Ada, are at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 5th at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs Kendell Martin, Darrell Phillips, and David Gray officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Geri, as she was better known by family and friends, died peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born April 28, 1929, in Beebe, OK to Ira and Louisa Thomas Pinley. At age fifteen, she married Harrell Lee Corvin on March 15, 1945. Harrell and Geri made their life together on the farm in Beebe where Harrell was born and raised.

After attending Worstell and Vanoss schools, she later attended East Central University. Geri’s work history included everything from bailing hay in younger years to bookkeeping. She worked as a butcher for Reeves Packing Company and later for Dicus Grocery Store. She worked for a while at General Tire on the assembly line. She was a bookkeeper for Dicus, Coca-Cola, and Kerr-Lab. Geri was also active in her church through the years, acting as a Sunday School teacher for little children and secretary/treasurer.

After retirement, Harrell and Geri were often found eating lunch at Burger King, which became their social hub for meeting friends and family. Many birthdays and other special occasions were celebrated there. Through their 69 years of marriage, Harrell and Geri were inseparable. When he passed, he left a big hole in Geri’s world.

Although they had no children of their own, Harrell and Geri were blessed by many nieces and nephews. Through the years, as the family expanded, they loved spending time with their great, and great-great nieces and nephews. Over the past two years, the thing that brought the brightest smile to Geri’s face was doting on her two great-great-great nieces, Sutton and Lilia. She was both surprised and blessed that God had allowed her the opportunity to be around to spend time with these precious girls. Geri left a special mark on her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her nieces Patricia Jarrett-Briley, Karen McKenzie-Holm and husband Dennis, and Barbara Ragland and husband Gilbert; great-nieces, Gina Maqusi, Dana Jarrett, Kayla Luce and husband Billy, Pam Simpson, Tricia Treadwell and husband Jason, Shelly Henry and husband Dennis, Carry O’Connor and husband Michael; great-nephews Terry Pinley and wife Angie, Donald Pinley and wife Jamie, Ronald Pinley, Bobby Pinley and wife Samantha; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harrel; her siblings, Oneida Pinley, Veda Mae Duncan and her husband James, Bertie Pinley, Albert Pinley and his wife Audie Mae; nephews, Jimmy Albert Pinley, Fred Jarrett, Leonard Briley, and Ed McKenzie.

Bearers will be Ronald Pinley, Donald Pinley, Terry Pinley, Michael O’Connor, Billy Luce, and Jordan Maqusi.

Honorary Bearers are Glen Pinley, Charles Bazzell, Ted Archer, Charles Archer, Rusty Hudson, Cliff Williams, Lonnie Long, and Rusty Hopper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ada Church of God of Prophecy 902 Arlington Center PMB 86 Ada, OK 74820-2883 or to Gideons International for Bibles: The Gideons International Processing Center P.O. Box 1821 Ada, OK 74821-1821.
