Graveside services for Richard Wayne Chronister, 76, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Chad Kaminski will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Mr. Chronister passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 in Stroud, OK. He was born June 30, 1947 in Harden City, OK to W.H. “Willie” and Eva Reed Chronister.

Mr. Chronister graduated from McLish High School in 1965. He joined the United States Army on August 16, 1967 where he fought in the Vietnam War for 19 months. He served his country for 6 years before being Honorably Discharged.

On July 16, 1969 he married Mary Tatum. He worked for the oil field industry his whole life until he retired around 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Chronister, of the home; two sons, Tim Chronister and wife Amy, Mark Chronister, all of Ada; four grandchildren, Coy Cranford, of Ada, Ashley Chronister and fiancé Riley McCracken, of Fittstown, Kennadi Chronister and Greyson Chronister, both of Ada; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Chronister was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Florance Pied, Viola Ragland, Pat Nunley and Bonnie Harbin; and four brothers, Lonnie Chronister, Robert Chronister, Hershel Chronister and Gene Chronister.
