Services for Lucile Blackburn, 91, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blackburn died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her home. She was born April 4, 1920 in Ada, Oklahoma to Huey and Beulah Darnell Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of Ada, attended Byng grade school and graduated from Byng High School. She attended Draughn School of Business in Oklahoma City.

She married H. A. Blackburn on February 23, 1942 in North Hollywood, California. Mrs. Blackburn was employed with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation from 1960 until retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ, a member of the Valley View Regional Hospital Auxiliary, the Byng Home Demonstration Club and had served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband, H. A. Blackburn, of the home; a son, Stephen Lee Blackburn and his wife Becky, Ada; her grandchildren, Melissa Speed and her husband Bill, Ada, Amy Dawn Blackburn, Chicago, IL, and Clint Alan Blackburn and his wife Lauren, Charlotte, NC; her great grandchildren, Reese Alan Lee Blackburn, Tennesse Anderson Blackburn, William Wayne Speed, Jr., Alexandra Grace Speed and Lillie Caroline Speed; two brothers, Raymond Johnson, Del City, and H. J. Johnson, Wellston; and a sister, Alberta Blackburn, Ada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Judy Gail Blackburn Cox, and a brother, Donald Johnson.

Bearers will be Wib Scroggins, Tom Stephens, Bill Bailey, Gene Harris, Bill Adams and David Cross. Honorary bearers will be Tim Green and Mick Cowan.
