Services for Leila Ellen Anderson, 70, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Revs. Ricky King and Ron Shipley will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anderson received her Heavenly promotion Friday, January 29, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Ada. She was born February 19, 1945 in Okemah to Hugh Blake and Minnie Ellen Payne Branscum. She graduated from Mason High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from East Central University in teaching. She also received a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Oklahoma.

She married George Kenneth Anderson May 28, 1966 in Seminole. Mrs. Anderson taught school in Konawa. She also had her real estate appraisal license and she was co-owner of K & L Real Estate Appraisal. Mrs. Anderson was a charter member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Ada.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Anderson, of the home; and her close friends, Teresa Buretta, Teresa Hogue and Karen McBride.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Hugh Anderson.

Bearers will be Dan Oliver, Bryce Oliver, Gary Hogue, Kamron Hogue, Keith Gurley and Faye Sliger. Honorary bearer will be John Chappel.
