Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River
Blvd., Saturday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m., for Archie K. Dillard, 81, who passed away April 19, 2006.
Archie was born on September 10, 1924, in Ada, Oklahoma, later migrating to California.
Archie was a veteran of WW II with the United States Marine Corps. He was awarded the Purple Heart while fighting in Iwo Jima.
After the war Archie worked several jobs in California, finally joining
and retiring as a teamster (truck driver) with 27 years on the road truck driving.
He was preceded in death by his wifes, Peggy, Ione and Floyce; sister,
Nadine Nickell and brother-in-law, Leon Nickell and Cliff Crauthers.
Archie is survived by his sister, Mary Crauthers; sons, Ken and Larry
Dillard; stepsons, Ronnie, Dennis, Andy and Randy, grandchildren and their families, Eddy Dillard, Peggy Nguyen, Shannon Garcia, Suzanne Van Neman, and Patrick Dillard; and nephews, Perry and Jerry Crauthers and their families.
