Memorial services for Dennis Wayne Bateman, 68, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Gray will officiate.

Mr. Bateman died Monday, October 27, 2014 at his home. He was born October 23, 1946 in Compton, California to Robert Raymond Earl Bateman and Mary Juanita Strailey Bateman. He graduated from Augusta High School, Augusta, Kansas in 1964.

He married Kelly West on July 13, 2007 in Ada. Mr. Bateman was a supervisor for Occidental Oil in Oklahoma City until his retirement. Later, he was employed with the Davis Correctional Center in Holdenville until retiring. Mr. Bateman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, a member of the Roff Lodge #169 A.F. and A.M., and a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and a volunteer with the American Red Cross for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Bateman, of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Bateman of Olathe, KS and Beth Vinson of Lexington, OK; a son, Craig Bateman of Pittsburg, KS; three grandchildren, Logan Bateman of Olathe, KS, Chloe Donaghey of Ada, and Drake Vinson of Lexington, OK; a brother, Jimmie Bateman of Moore, OK; and numerous well-loved cousins, step-brothers and step-sisters.
