Services for Murel Andrew Nemecek, Jr., 79, of Byng, are 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Reno Dye will officiate, and Joe Nemecek will do the eulogy. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Nemecek passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his home. He was born May 24, 1943 in Memphis, TN to Murel Andrew, Sr. and Dorothy Ann Luper Nemecek He attended Sulphur High School.

He married June Wofford on July 2, 1965 in Durant. Mr. Nemecek served in the National Guard for 4 years, worked in the North Sea for an oil pipeline company for 10 years, later, drove semi-trucks over the road as long as anyone can remember and started A & J Transportation in 1999. He was a 32 Degree Mason at the Davis Lodge for 50 years and a member of the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife, June Nemecek, of the home; two sons, Tony Nemecek and wife Diane, Happyland Community and Joe Nemecek and wife Sandy, Kullihoma; one daughter, Lena “Cissy” Winton and husband Alan, Byng; five sisters, Lucy Kelley and husband Wesley, Pryor, OK, Linda Johnston, Laguna Hills, CA, Susan Law and husband Monte and Liz Johnston and husband Dave, all of Ada, and Sara Townsend and husband Andy, Wynnewood; eight grandchildren, Josh Nemecek, Dana Sanford and husband Wes, Andrew Nemecek and wife Beth, Brittnea Melton and husband Brenton, Andi Saiz and husband Alex, Zebekiah Nemecek and wife Kimberly, Joseph Nemecek and Raven Fargo; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Joseph Talmadge Nemecek, II.
