Services for Homer Olan Howell, 78, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the New Bethel Cemetery at Byng, Rev. Dan McGehee will officiate.

Mr. Howell passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 at home with his family. He was born August 11, 1941 in Connerville, OK to Homer and Lucy Wafford Howell. He attended Pontotoc school and Murray State College in Tishomingo.

Mr. Howell worked at the Steel Mills in Gary, Indiana and building high rise apartment buildings in Chicago, IL. He was drafted in 1964 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from the service, he married Arlene Pepin in 1968 at Yukon, OK. He and his wife moved to Colorado and both worked for Eastman Kodak Company for several years, until retiring to Oklahoma.

He is survived by a daughter, Christine De La Pointe, Windsor, CO; daughter, Donna Faye Horn and husband Marcus, Weatherford, OK; sisters, Patsy Duke, Ada and Carol Matthews, Ravia; his grandchildren, Shannon Rogers, Devon Cox, Drake De La Pointe, Becky Horn and Keri Horn; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arelene in 2013; a son, John Howell; step-son, Wayne Houck; grandson, Marcus Horn, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Horn; a sister, Linda Harrel; and brother, Billy Howell.

Bearers will be Ray Matthews, David Matthews, Devon Cox and Ian Pittman. Honorary bearers will be Russell Matthews, Drake De La Pointe, Hunter Matthews, Matthew Miller and Hubert Sandy Schutte.

**Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, only 10 people may gather at the graveside, per the Governor’s Office.**
