Services for Wendell Wayne Sherrell, 81, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at Southwest Church of Christ in Ada. Floyd Kaiser will officiate, assisted by Brian Lewis and David Dirrim. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada.

Mr. Sherrell passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born April 7, 1942 in Rocky Chapel to Pete and Juanita Sherrell.

He married Sharon Standridge on March 25, 1962. She preceded him in death July 4, 2021. Mr. Sherrell was self-employed and later became a co-owner of Sherrell Steel, LLC, then retired to enjoy spending time with his family, fishing and operating the bulldozer. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include his son, D. E. Sherrell and wife Dawna; sister, Sandy Hooper and husband Dan; three grandchildren, T. W. Estes, Taw Sherrell and wife Brialey, and Bodie Marion and wife Jorri; three great-grandchildren, Sadee Kaye Sherrell, Raelyn Marion and Cager Marion; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D. W. (Pete) and Juanita Sherrell; his wife, Sharon; daughter, Cyndy Sherrell; and one sister, Patricia Allison.

Bearers will be Alan Stonecipher, Danny James, Jet McCoy, James Myers, Gary Yowell and Clint Claborn. Honorary bearers will be Brent Lowe, Clay Young, Tommy Myers, Ronnie Mitchusson and Billy Joe James.

Greatly appreciated family and friends, Marshall, Wayne, Tommie, Gary and Cil, Sandy, Dan, Jan, Sue and Katy.
