Services for James J. Sherrell, 87, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Eddie Poblete will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Sherrell died Monday, October 15, 2012 at his home. He was born April 7, 1925 at Franks, Oklahoma to Jim and Katie Rupert Sherrell. He attended McLish School at Fittstown.

He married Faye Aline Murray on November 16, 1947. They were married for over 65 years. Mr. Sherrell worked for a pipeline construction company for three years. He then moved his family back to Ada and started the Sherrell Truck Garage and operated that business for 25 years. This was also a GMC and Ford Tractor dealership. He sold the business and became an oilfield pumper and gauger for Swadley Oil Company for the last 7 years. Mr. Sherrell served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Aline Sherrell, of the home; his daughter, Sheila McClure; his son, Ron Sherrell and his wife Deanda; two brothers, Robbie Sherrell and Billy Sherrell; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bearers will be Greg Fowler, Bob Hester, Gene Harris, Eric Jorgensen, Morris McGehee, and Bennie Cope. Honorary bearers will be Pat and Ira Allison, Jim Platt, and Truman Witten.
