Graveside services for Shirley Mae Henson, 86, of Ada, formerly of Konawa are 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Henson died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at a local assisted living center. She was born June 10, 1935 to J. L. and Rossie Roach Rowland.

She married William A. “Bill” Henson. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1998. Mrs. Henson received her Bachelors and Master’s Degree from East Central University. She retired from teaching English, Drama and Librarian at Konawa High School, after many years. She was a long-time member of the Konawa First United Methodist Church, where she played piano for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Joni Barrett and husband Richard of Holdenville; two sons, Mike Henson and wife Renee and Randy Henson and wife Cheryl; a sister, Layma Roudebush; a sister-in-law, Julee Henson; four grandchildren, Will Henson and wife Shannon, Clarke Henson and wife Madi, Trent Barrett and wife Amy and Clay Barrett; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Barrett; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
