Jewel "Judy" Sullivan, 87, of McAlester, died Sunday, March 8, in McAlester. The family will welcome friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 11, at 3:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, with Oben Weeks and Pastor Kelley Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery with Pastor Steve Mayhew officiating there. Pallbearers are Joe Medley, Shane Ragan, Stacy Sullivan, Logan Medley, Jake Medley and Sean Strickland. Honorary pallbearers are David Warren, Larry Robinson, Tim Skinner, Gavin Skinner, Austen Skinner, Nick Tovar, Ashher Scott and Bryce Ragan Judy Sullivan was born on Dec. 20, 1932 in Waco, Tx. to Jewel "Buck" Riley and Ruby May (Richardson) Riley. She grew up in Texas, mainly in the Waco area and married Robert C. Sullivan on Sept. 23, 1949 in Castor, La. They lived in the McAlester area for over 20 years. Judy worked as a cook at several local schools, including Emerson Elementary School, Tannehill School and Lakewood Christian School. She had also worked at the J. I. Stipe Center preparing food for the Senior Citizens group. In her spare-time she loved to travel. She was a long-time member of the North Town Church of Christ. Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Warren; grandchildren, Kellye Medley and husband Joe, Wendy Ragan and husband Shane, Jessica Warren, Abbey Warren, Julie Sullivan and husband Stacy, Christy Strickland and husband Sean, Tamara Sullivan and Robert Keen; great grandchildren, Holly Skinner and husband Tim, Carleigh Medley, Jake Medley, Brooklynn Jackson and husband Forrest, Kara Medley, Logan Medley, Bryce Ragan, Veronikaa Fira, Vanessa Fira, Nikolas Tovar and Sara Tover; great-great grandchildren, Gavin Skinner, Austen Skinner, Madelinne Skinner, Angel Scott, Ashher Scott, Everleigh Scott, Journi Newman, and AubriLynn Newman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; 2 sons, Ronald Kelley Sullivan and Timothy Carl Sullivan; 2 grandsons, Shane Sullivan and Jeff Sullivan; and a sister, Greta Walker.
