Clifford LV Vaughn, a cherished family man, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Kiowa First Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Drake officiating. The burial will follow at Pine Top Cemetery, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Trevan Suter, Zachery Suter, Chance Wainscott, Kevin McCormick, Andy Barnard, Kaden Ellis, Robert Suter, and Cale Witter. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Downum, Jimmy Nalley, Nathen Vaughn, Amos Hall, Georgie Hall, Nicholas Vaughn, and Matthew Vaughn. Born on February 21, 1954, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Clifford was the beloved son of L.V. Vaughn and Anna Lee (Parent) Vaughn. On January 13, 1982, he married the love of his life, Frances Smith, in McAlester, Oklahoma. He is survived by his daughters: Maxie Wainscott of Pittsburg, Annie Suter and her husband Ron of Waurika, and Marie Downum of McAlester. Clifford's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren: Chance Wainscott and wife, Lindsay, Mikal Wainscott, Alyssa Witter and husband, Cale, Robert Suter and wife, Whitney, Trevan Suter, Zachery Suter, Maggie Suter, Michael Downum, Jessica Downum, and Cheyenne Downum. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Elias, Gracie, Creedance "Cash", Kaden, Riley, and Kamden. He is also survived by his sister, Thelma Nalley of Sallisaw, and his step-daughter, Theresa Brown and her husband Michael of Hartshorne. His life was enriched by his close friendship with Kevin McCormick and the loyal companionship of his beagle, Petey. Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 2020; his parents: LV and Anna Vaughn; his brother Dennis Vaughn, his uncle Johnny Parent, his sister-in-law Kelly Smith, and his brother-in-law Jody Smith. Professionally, Clifford dedicated his life to his work as an auto mechanic, a trade where his skill and integrity were appreciated. His work was not just a job but a passion, and his expertise helped countless people over the years. Outside of work, Clifford was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Clifford LV Vaughn lived a full life, surrounded by those he loved and who loved him in return. His memory will be treasured and his presence deeply missed.
