Wanda Fanning, 76 of McAlester, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jordy McKaskle officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Wanda was born on June 19, 1938 in Graham to Tom & Myrtle Franks Cox. She attended schools in Graham and graduated from Graham High School. Wanda married Tom Fanning on July 25, 1958 in Graham. She and Tom lived in Enid and Lindsay, and moved in June of 1977 to McAlester. Wanda worked at the First National Bank of McAlester in the CD Department for over 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and fishing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester. Survivors include her sons: Rodney Fanning & Loretta Humphreys of McAlester and Karl Fanning of McAlester; grandson: Matthew Fanning of McAlester; sister and spouse: Betty Ann & Robert Lindsey of Midwest City; and brother-in-law & spouse: Bob & Emma Fanning of Kingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Tom Fanning in 2001, and sisters: Marie Kunselman and Doris Haines. Pallbearers will be Andy Wood, Dennis Howell, Matt Fanning, Tony Alessi, Doug Hummel, and Doug Menees. Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Vietta.
