Laura Elizabeth (Steidley) Stryker, 63, of McAlester, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at her residence. Laura was born to Thomas and DeDe (Lorince) Steidley on December 16, 1953 in McAlester. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1972. She obtained an Associate Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee in 1997. Laura worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Nichols Marine for 12 years. She enjoyed water skiing when she was younger, and also collected teddy bears and stuffed animals. She grew up a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Survivors include her husband: Jim Holden of the home; son: Thomas J. Stryker of Council Hill; daughter: Angela Tull and husband, Josh of McAlester; grandchildren: Daniel Tull, Jeremiah Tull; brothers: Tom Steidley and wife, Karen of McAlester, Burt Steidley and wife, Janice of Broken Arrow, David Steidley and wife, Robin of McAlester; cousin: Francis Volock of McAlester; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and DeDe Steidley, sister: Julia Steidley Bowling, and a great-niece: Katlyn Lewis. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Jake Johnson. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
