Joe Hass was born February 1, 1934 at Pounds Valley, OK and died December 17, 2011 at McAlester, OK. Rosary is at Bishop Chapel of Memories 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2011 Services are from St. John's Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 20, 2011 with Rev. Leonard Higgins officiating. Active pallbearers are Adam Hass, Josh Hass, Randy Hass, Eli Hass, Dennis Edge, Bryan Hammers and Michael Edge. Honorary pallbearers are members of the 1953 Kiowa High School Graduating Class, David Stanfield, Joe Stone, Ike Bandy, Mike Estes, Jeff Price, John Edge, Nathan VanBlaricom, Joe Frank Johnson, Stevie Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Chase Hass, Ryan Hongell, Jason Price, Dusty Johnson and Calup Johnson. Final resting place is Mt. Calvary Cemetery at McAlester, OK. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Addison Hass of the home, daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Jeff Price of McAlester, Rita Wilson of McAlester, Sandra and Mike Estes of Crowder, Jerri and John Edge of McAlester and Rebecca Johnson of McAlester; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sylvia Hass of McAlester 25 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Armel and Virgil Burns of Springfield, MO; a brother and sister-in-law, Julius and Marjorie Hass of Hartshorne, OK; a sister-in-law, Wanda Hass of KS; mother-in-law, Jennie McDougal of McAlester, several nieces and nephews and other family and friends. . He is preceded in death by his father, Ila Hass, mother, Artie Bates Hass, sister, Allene Crowson, and a brother, Nelcson Hass.
