Will Parker
Hartshorne Sun
Thursday, December 25, 1913
Submitted by: Genea Bohanon

After seventeen days of continuous digging the body of Will Parker was recovered at 5 o'clock Saturday evening within a few feet of the bottom of the air shaft at No. 7 mine, 450 feet below the surface, in a standing posture with neck and one arm broken and the jaw crushed, showing that death must have been instantaneous, as either blow on the neck or jaw would have produced death. Otherwise the body was in good condition. It is evident that the body went down with the mass of concrete and clay. It was prepared for burial by W. D. Craig, the undertaker, and the funeral took place from the family residence on Lehigh Avenue Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Thos. D. New of the First Baptist Church.
The deceased is survived by a widow and two children, his mother one sister and three brothers, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
