Hester Lou Gardner of McAlester, OK died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the age of 78. Hester was born November 25, 1937 in McAlester, OK to Davis and Lealer (Carney) Kemp. She is survived by her children: Stu Kemp and wife, Linda, Danny Kemp, Kathryn Young, Stephen Gardner, David Gardner, Jr. and Darlene Mills; brothers, Matthew Kemp, Davis Kemp, Merle Kirkland, and Earl Kirkland; sisters, Maudie Stubblefield, Mary Pendergrass, Johnnie Sue Kemp and Dorothy Jim; Nineteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Hester was preceded in death by her husband, David Gardner; mother, Lealer Carney; father, Davis Kemp; two sons, David Kemp and Lynn Murphy; sister, Ruth Cummins and one brother, Hubert Kemp. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gary Daney officiating. Interment will follow at the Kemp Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ellis Wayne Montgomery, Stuart Kemp, Stephen Gardner, Jr., Dylan Beshears, Benjamin Jordan, and Wyatt Beshears. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donald Glass, Dion Glass, Ronald Perkins, Michael Tolbert, Frank Cumming, Jr., John Cumming and Chris Gomes.
