Guy B. Hooser, age 98 died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with W. Lee "Dub" Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Crowder cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Brumely-Mills Funeral Home. Guy B. Hooser was born on November 13, 1917 in Canadian to J.C. and Emma (Hurt) Hooser. He has lived in the McAlester area all his life. Guy worked for the State Highway Department for 28 years until his retirement. He also ranched all his life and raised laying hens a number of years. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Canadian Masonic Lodge. He was a long time, active member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester. His wife, Flora, preceded him in death. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Joyce Lawrence; nephews and nieces, Mickey Lawrence, Brain Lawrence, Karen Lytle, Linda Wood; great nieces and nephew, Karla Shieves, Kim Mason, Jimmy Joe Wood; great-great nephew, Tyler Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Flora; 2 brothers, Thetchel and Roy; a sister, Clemmie Tempia; brothers-in-law, Holder Lawrence and Bill Tempia; sisters-in-law, Mae Hooser and Lois Hooser; a nephew-in-law, Everett Lytle.
