Charles R. Wood was born September 21st, 1935 at Pittsburg, OK and died January 23, 2005 at McAlester, OK. Services are at Pittsburg First Baptist Church 10:00 a.m. Wednesday January 26, 2005. Pallbearers are Gary Wood, Jimmy Ray Wood, Robert Hicks, Joe Ryan, Raymond Hicks and Jim Ryan. Clergy officiating is Rev. Jim Davidson. Final resting place is Pittsburg Cemetery Pittsburg, OK. Survivors are his wife, DiAnna (Bo) Wood of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Karla and Mike Hayes of Westville, OK and Keri and Gary Anderson of Pittsburg, OK; son, Vernon Dee Wood of South Port, NC; grandchildren and a spouse, Brant and Sarah Hayes, Channa Hayes, Cherokee Anderson, Kerra Hayes, Jeremy Yarbrough, Ali Wood and Cody Wood; 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Dee and Norma Lois Wood of Pittsburg, OK and John and Pat Wood of Pittsburg, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and George Blessing of Savanna, OK; special friends, Myra Sanders and Vanessa Cummings. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Wood and mother, Opal Ellison Wood; brothers, Bob Wood, an infant brother and George Wood; an aunt, Marie Ryan.
