Brushy Baptist Church Cemetery

Paula Denise (Hines) Lester, 57 of Norman died Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Norman. Viewing will be Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory, McAlester. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 30, 2023 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Raymond Johnson. Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery near Blanco. Pallbearers will be, Jordan Hamilton, Cody Hines, Colton Hines, Sean Carlisle and Ms. Leslie Hines. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jesse Lester and Joey Hedgecock. Paula was born to Roy and Maxine (Williams) Hines on June 28, 1965 in Taft, California. She grew up in McAlester. Paula married Charles William Lester, III December 19, 1980 in McAlester. She served as a faithful minister's wife for over 22 years, Temple Baptist Church and Brushy Baptist Church. She was committed to family, making sure that all knew of her support to achieve their highest potential. Her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. She is now reunited with her parents, Roy and Maxine Hines; husband, Charles William Lester, III; and a granddaughter, Kyler Scott. Paula is survived by her daughters, Heather Lester, of Oklahoma City, Genci Hedgecock and husband, Joey, Rachel Lester and Derrick Clay; son, Jesse Lester all of Norman; grandchildren, Dakota Lester, Makayla Lester, Hailey Hedgecock, Fallon Anderson, Laura Anderson, Amaya Anderson, Kyndyn Clay, Kynlynn Clay, Kyleah Clay, Kycelynn Clay, Hayden Charles Lester, Fallon Lester, Kyllah Deford; great granddaughter, Layla Courtney; sisters, Leslie Hines, Sonya Hines, Cecilia Hines all of Seminole; brother-in-law, Nathan Lester of Yukon, sister-in-law, Rebecca Hawkins and husband, Neal of Durant; niece, Mackenzi Clapp, other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
